• There is only one true God the creator of the heavens and the earth.
  • The Bible is the inspired word of God.
  • Jesus Christ is God’s son.
  • The Holy Spirit is God’s power.
  • Man is mortal and dies because of sin.
  • Jesus was raised from death by God and ascended into heaven.
  • Jesus will return to the earth and there will be a resurrection and judgment.
  • The dead are unconscious and the soul is not immortal.
  • To be saved from eternal death a person needs to repent and be baptised into Jesus by full immersion in water then follow a Godly way of life.
  • Christadelphians are a body of Christians that place their beliefs wholly on the Bible.
  • The name “Christadelphian” means “brethren in Christ” (Greek).
  • Christadelphians aim to live by faith in Jesus Christ.
  • There are no ministers or pastors. Brethren are appointed to oversee the spiritual and pastoral wellbeing of Christadelphian meetings and its members.
  • Patients may wish to see a member of the Christadelphian community.
  • They may request a Bible and may appreciate a brother visiting to break bread with them.
  • If a patient is in any kind of spiritual distress a member of the Christadelphian community may be called to offer comfort.
  • There are no general dietary requirements.
  • Some Christadelphians will not wish to eat any food containing blood e.g. black pudding
  • Christadelphians believe that when a person dies their existence ends until the day of resurrection from the dead.
  • Christadelphians believe death is not final but that they sleep in peace knowing nothing until they are raised by their returning Lord.
  • Prayers by a fellow Christadelphian may be said at the bedside of the dying.
  • Always ask the patient if they would like to see a member of their church.
  • There are no special rituals or practices for the dying.
  • Some Christadelphians may have objections to post mortems or organ donation/transplantation and choices are made by the individual.
  • The wishes of the deceased are respected with regard to burial or cremation. Christadelphians in the main will choose burial.
